A history of restoration efforts for Vancouver Lake

Valley, D.R. 1976. An archaeological survey of the propose dredge spoil locations for the pilot dredge program, Vancouver Lake, Vancouver, Washington.

INTRODUCTION: The archaeological survey of the proposed dredge spoil locations for the Pilot Dredge Program by the Port of Vancouver on Vancouver Lake was conducted on July 30, 1976. This survey was conducted to determine the locations of previously reported archaeological sites, their relationship to proposed dredge spoil locations and construction work being planned by the Port of Vancouver. Preliminary investigations began by reviewing the data from previous surveys of the area. A report submitted by David Munsell entitled "An Archaeological Survey of the Clark County Park at Vancouver Lake", 1973, was used as the basic research report for this survey. Archaeological sites; 45-CL-60, 45-CL-62, 45-CL-65 and 45-CL-66 are close to the proposed work areas. It was determined that none of these sites would be affected by the proposed dredging project.
