A history of restoration efforts for Vancouver Lake
Clark
County, Water Quality Division. 1995. Burnt Bridge Creek Watershed
Plan. (Clark County Watershed Protection Program).
Executive Summary:
The Goal: The overall watershed program goal is to prevent localized flooding and erosion and protect water resources at a minimal monetary cost to the local community.
The Burnt Bridge Creek Watershed Plan strives to carry out the overall program goal by: (a) developing capital improvement projects to control stormwater runoff volume and remove pollutants from runoff; (b) creating a program to reduce sources of pollution to Burnt Bridge Creek; (c) enhancing existing public education and outreach functions to show individuals better ways to protect water resources in this watershed; and (d) secure local source(s) of revenue to fully implement this plan.
The goals and objectives of the Burnt Bridge Creek Watershed Plan will replace parts of the Clark County Stormwater Control Ordinance (CCC 13.25) in the unincorporated areas of the Burnt Bridge Creek Watershed. This watershed plan is consistent with the goals and policies of the Clark County 20-Year Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and Community Framework Plan (December 1994). In the incorporated areas the plan is consistent with the City of Vancouver's Stormwater Control Ordinance (VM 14.25).
